<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Making French classes optional for students is another effort by the Calgary Board of Education to personalize learning, a representative said yesterday.<BR><BR>Starting this fall, schools teaching those in fourth through sixth grades will now consult with their community before deciding whether to offer second-language courses.</P>
