<P><FONT size=2>11th Nordic Conference on Bilingualism<BR><BR>Date: 14-Jun-2012 - 16-Jun-2012<BR>Location: Copenhagen, Denmark<BR>Contact Person: Solvang Lin<BR>Meeting Email: < click here to access email ><BR>Web Site: <A href="http://bilingualism.au.dk/">http://bilingualism.au.dk/</A><BR><BR>Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics; Language Acquisition; Sociolinguistics<BR><BR>Call Deadline: 01-Dec-2011<BR><BR>Meeting Description:<BR><BR>The University of Copenhagen and the Danish School of Education invite<BR>you to participate in the 11th Nordic Conference on Bilingualism at<BR>the Danish School of Education in Copenhagen.<BR><BR>The main theme of the conference will be bilingualism and<BR>globalization. The official languages of the conference will be the<BR>Scandinavian languages and English.<BR><BR>During the conference a Nordic Association for the Study of<BR>Poly-lingualism will be founded.<BR><BR>Plenary Speakers:<BR><BR>Kathy Jie Dong is a postdoc at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.<BR>She has been doing language research linked to migrant identity<BR>construction and ethnographic studies of linguistic superdiversity in<BR>China.<BR><BR>Jürgen Jaspers is Professor at Antwerpen University. His<BR>sociolinguistic research includes studies among young minority<BR>students in Belgium.<BR><BR>Kirsten Refsing is Professor of Japanese Studies at the University of<BR>Copenhagen with previous employment at the University of Hong Kong.<BR>Her research areas include the Japanese Language, the Ainu language<BR>and culture and the history of the British missionaries in Hokkaido<BR>and the rest of Japan 1869-1900, and she has edited The Ainu Language<BR>published in 25 volumes.<BR><BR>Lava Deo Awashi is Director General of the Department of Education at<BR>the Ministry of Education in Nepal. He holds a PhD from the Danish<BR>School of Education.<BR><BR>Call for Papers:<BR><BR>The presentations of the conference are requested in three formats:<BR>panels, papers and posters.<BR><BR>Panels:<BR><BR>Proposals for workshops for up to 3x2 hours are welcome.<BR><BR>A motivated introduction to the workshop theme not exceeding 400 words<BR>plus 100-word abstracts for each planned contribution to the workshop<BR>should be submitted electronically to bilingualismhum.ku.dk no later<BR>than 1 December 2011. The name and affiliations of applicants should<BR>be included in the submission<BR><BR>Papers:<BR><BR>Abstracts not exceeding 400 words and stating the name and affiliation<BR>of all authors clearly should be submitted electronically to<BR>bilingualismhum.ku.dk no later than 1 December 2011. Papers will be<BR>allowed 25 minutes each, including discussion.<BR><BR>An online 'book of abstracts' will be available by 1 June 2012.<BR><BR>Posters:<BR><BR>Posters will be presented on boards. The boards will be available<BR>throughout the conference. The slots will be allotted for<BR>presentation.<BR><BR>One-page abstracts of maximum 400 words stating the name and<BR>affiliation of all authors clearly should be submitted electronically<BR>to bilingualismhum.ku.dk no later than 1 December 2011.<BR><BR>The acceptance of the presentations will be announced by 31 January 2012.<BR><BR>Important Dates:<BR><BR>1 December 2011: Proposals should be submitted<BR>31 January 2011: Scientific committee has decided on which abstracts<BR>will be accepted<BR>1 April 2012: Registration final abstracts, and conference fee<BR><BR><A href="http://linguistlist.org/issues/22/22-3721.html">http://linguistlist.org/issues/22/22-3721.html</A><BR><BR></FONT></P></DIV></BODY></HTML>
