Our 2012 institute will be co-sponsored by the <a href="http://www.thelanguageflagship.org/">NSEP National Language Flagship Program</a> as part of their Flagship Results 2012 initiative.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>The Center invites applicants to participate in this program, the Sixth Heritage Language Research Institute, <i>From <span class=spelle>Overhearers</span> to High Proficiency Speakers: Advancing Heritage Learners' Skills. </i>Directed by Professor Maria <span class=spelle>Polinsky</span> (Harvard), the institute will take place from June 18-22, 2012, at UCLA. Presenters, including several from Language Flagship programs from around the U.S., will speak about advanced heritage speakers' language skills as well as pedagogical approaches that help heritage speakers acquire high levels of language mastery. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>Applications are invited from linguists, language instructors, and researchers, including doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows, currently involved in heritage language teaching and research.
