<div>That's interesting. However, I'm a bit concerned by a phenomenon whereby people read this sort of report, which rightly identifies certain languages as being of particular strategic interest on a national level, and translate it into personal action.
That tendency is most worryingly seen in Sweden in the belief that because English has an incredibly important role, it is not useful to invest time and energy in learning other languages.<br>

Any given individual with competence in a particular language is likely to be able to find a use for that language, but that message is easily overshadowed by a perception that some languages are more important than others.</div>
