The department especially seeks someone with research interests in one or more of the following areas: language assessment, second language acquisition, ELL pedagogy, and preK-12 ESL education. It is an NCATE-accredited, Carnegie Research University (high research activity) widely recognized for its excellence in undergraduate and graduate education. <br><br><strong>Department:</strong> The Department has 21 full-time faculty on tenure-track, clinical, and lecturer lines and serves over 550 graduate students in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) initial certification program, Master of Arts in Instructional Systems Development program, Master of Arts in TESOL program, and Master of Arts in Education (MAE) program. In addition, approximately 250 students are seeking initial teacher certification through the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education undergraduate programs.
