<p>German language teachers win pay rise as immigrants boost demand</p>

German language teachers have been awarded a 15 per cent pay rise as a surge of new arrivals is filling immigrant language classes to capacity and raising fears of a shortage of qualified instructors.</p>

<p>“This is a matter of supply and demand, and demand is going up,” says Benjamin Beckmann, a department chief at the government’s migration office.</p>
