<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:12pt;color:black">Michael D. Guerrero earned his doctorate in educational linguistics from the University of New Mexico. Currently he is a Professor of Education at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in the Department of Bilingual and Literacy Studies where he teaches classes on bilingualism, second language acquisition and language pedagogy in both English and Spanish. His primary research agenda and the focus of his publications center on the development of academic Spanish for bilingual teachers and on the few opportunities they have to develop professional, academic Spanish and ideological linguistic clarity.<span></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:12pt;color:black">María Consuelo Guerrero earned her doctorate in Latin American studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Guerrero is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where she teaches courses in Spanish language, literature, film, and Portuguese.  She has also published articles on bilingual education and taught Spanish language courses to future bilingual education teachers.<span></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;line-height:normal;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial"><span style="font-size:12pt;color:rgb(68,68,68)">Lucinda Soltero-González is an educational consultant for research projects in the BUENO Center for Multicultural Education at the University of Colorado Boulder and ELD & Biliteracy Coordinator in the Adams County School District 14 in Colorado. She taught in elementary school and bilingual special education classrooms for several years before receiving her doctorate degree in Language, Reading, and Culture from the University of Arizona in 2007. Her work centers on the early biliteracy development of Latino bilingual children and culturally and linguistically responsive teaching.<span></span></span></p>
