<div>It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Alexandra “Misty” Jaffe, the Chair of the Department of Linguistics, on November 20 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.

<p>The Linguistics Department will be working with Dr. Jaffe’s family on a memorial service in honor of her extraordinary life and dedicated service to the department and the university community. Detailed information on arrangements will be conveyed in due

 course.</p>
