<p>While an e-mail from AAAL yesterday noted an 11:59pm EDT deadline elsewhere a 4:00pm EDT deadline is listed. For anyone planning a last-minute submission today, it is probably wise to get it in before 4:00pm EDT to be sure.</p>

<p>The call for submissions to the American Association for Applied Linguistics conference closes at 11:59pm Eastern Time (USA). Educational Linguistics (<a href="https://www.aaal.org/EDU" class="OWAAutoLink">EDU</a>) is among the strands:</p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>"<span>Research in educational linguistics focuses on language-related issues that emerge from or have implications for educational practice including but not limited to classroom teaching. Accordingly, educational linguists begin with a practical issue
and then look to relevant theories and methods needed to fully understand it. A hallmark of educational linguistics is multidimensional inquiry, recognizing the value of investigating language (in) education phenomena in dynamic social context. Empirical and
theoretical work is characterized by transdisciplinary approaches to account for the intersection of relevant societal, interpersonal, and intrapersonal dimensions that mediate the development of linguistic repertoires in settings of formal and informal education
across the lifespan.</span>"</p>
