<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_quote gmail_quote_container"><div dir="ltr">JNCL-NCLIS<br><br>Congress Must Act to Reverse Devastating Cuts to Language Education Offices!<br><br>On Tuesday, March 11th, the US Department of Education announced that it was laying off close to 50% of its staff. Based on documents and media reports we have seen, it appears that the Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA), which administers the Title III grants, has been closed and all of its employees either fired or moved to other positions in the Department of Education. Additionally, we understand that the International Education and Foreign Language Studies office in the Department’s Office of Postsecondary Education, including the Advanced Training and Research Group and the International Studies Group, has been eliminated in the same way.<br><br>Full text:<br><a href="https://www.votervoice.net/JNCL/campaigns/123403/respond" target="_blank">https://www.votervoice.net/JNCL/campaigns/123403/respond</a><br></div>
