<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">We’ll be talking with <b>Erika Darics</b>, a researcher, teacher,
<a href="https://wordsandactions12342078.wordpress.com/">podcaster</a> (and more!) at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Dr. Darics is spearheading an EU-funded project called
<a href="https://www.solidar.org/project/clades-critical-language-awareness-democratic-engagement-sustainability/">
CLADES</a> (rhymes with “glades”), which stands for “<b>Critical Language Awareness for Democratic Engagement and Sustainability.”
</b>Universities in five different countries are involved with this three-year project, which is working to produce materials for integrating CLA across higher education curricula. There’s a vision for doing the same within primary and secondary grades in future
projects. This is HUGE—and it’s building on the CLA work that folks like <b>Hilary Janks</b> (now a CLA Collective member, to my great delight!) have been doing since the 1990s
