<i>advocacy</i> within dual language bilingual education (DLBE) and community-based heritage language programs in the United States for/with/by Asian and Asian American communities. Foregrounding the importance of heritage language maintenance and culturally
 sustaining learning environments, the volume considers how <i>advocacy</i>, driven by students, families, educators, administrators, leaders, and community members, supports identity formation, community empowerment, and belonging (Garcia et al., 2012) for
 populations often overlooked in bilingual education narratives (Wong & Tian, 2022).</span></p>
