This special issue invites applied linguists, educators, and researchers to explore the ethical dimensions of AI in language education and research by bridging what we call “small” and “big” ethics—from classroom-level dilemmas (academic integrity, fairness,
authorship, responsible AI use) to systemic and global questions (linguistic bias, epistemic justice, data access, environmental impact).</div>
