<div dir="ltr"><br class="gmail-Apple-interchange-newline">NABE 56th Annual Int’l Conference, Lake Buena Vista, Florida Feb. 17-19, 2027<br><br>                                      *In Memory of Dr. Larry Selinker, z"l<br><br>Promoting the acquisition of languages throughout the lifespan: Building multilingual coalitions<br><br>     The NABE 2027 Research Institute, sponsored by the Research &amp; Evaluation Special<br>Interest Group, is accepting proposals for short papers to be presented at the 56th Annual NABE<br>Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Our theme, “Promoting the acquisition of languages<br>throughout the lifespan: Building multilingual coalitions,” highlights the critical role of sustaining<br>language-learning opportunities and collaborations to promote global connections. The 2027<br>Research Institute seeks to foster dialogue and partnerships that support language learning<br>from early childhood through older adulthood, emphasizing the importance of multilingualism<br>in an increasingly interconnected world.<div><br>     Submissions that examine the collaboration among members of educational institutions,<br>community organizations, and global networks to promote equitable access to multilingual<br>education and lifelong language development are especially appreciated. All research paradigms<br>are welcome: experimental, quasi-experimental, descriptive, qualitative (including<br>phenomenology, constructivist paradigms, grounded theory, narratives, (auto)ethnographies,<br>testimonios, (participatory) action research, and mixed designs), and more. We affirm that each<br>approach provides a useful lens to enhance our understanding.</div><div><br>     We also encourage submissions that focus on:<br>● data-based, theoretical, and/or pedagogical practices on bilingualism,<br>second/foreign/world language acquisition, intercultural communication, language and<br>technology integration, and/or language assessment.<br>● community-centered initiatives for greater linguistic and cultural inclusion.<br>● research on a range of languages and varieties, especially those that are currently under-<br>represented in bilingual education and/or are associated with marginalized populations.</div><div><br>     Your abstract should be between 150 and 250 words. Please include a proposal title,<br>author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), and a summary of 50 words. Be sure to mention the language(s) involved in<br>your study or discussion. Also, include your preferred email and share your cellphone number<br>(for internal contact only).</div><div><br>The deadline for submission to the Research and Evaluation SIG is July 6, 2026. A notice of acceptance status will be sent by Aug 28, 2026.<br><br>Please submit your proposal using the following Google Form: <a href="http://bit.ly/4vmyZZR" target="_blank">http://bit.ly/4vmyZZR</a><div class="gmail-yj6qo"></div></div><br class="gmail-Apple-interchange-newline"></div>
