This special issue seeks to unflatten the category of ¡°Chinese¡± and bring together critical scholarship that attends to the diverse languages, histories, identities, communities, and sociopolitical realities shaping Chinese-English bilingual education in the
United States.</div>

We take a broad view of Chinese-English bilingual education, encompassing Cantonese, Mandarin, and other Chinese languages across diverse educational contexts¡ªfrom public and private schools and dual language/immersion programs to heritage language, community-based,
after-school, and weekend programs.</div>

We welcome interdisciplinary scholarship examining historical, political, sociocultural, and pedagogical dimensions of Chinese-English bilingual education, and especially work that brings forward underexplored histories, languages, communities, and experiences.
We also welcome collaborations with K¨C12 educators, community organizers, public historians, and other community partners.</div>
