As a listowner of the many of scholarly electronic agoras operating from
COOMBS.ANU.EDU.AU address I receive regularly inquiries on procedures
related to these lists. Eg.:

>I must leave the list for a few months, while I travel away from campus.  
>I've misplaced instructions on how to "unsubscribe."  Can you send me 
>those instructions?  Thanks.

The procedure is simple and painless:

to quit any of our lists
message to: majordomo at coombs.anu.edu.au
body: unsubcribe <list-name> <subscriber's-email-address>

to join any of our lists
message to: majordomo at coombs.anu.edu.au
body: subcribe <list-name> <subscriber's-email-address>


Also, please remember that 
===================
- any communications ABOUT the list (complaints, worries, disagreements on policy matters etc)  are to be sent to the listowner (= NOT to the list itself)
- any REQUESTS for info. about the list (eg. 'help', 'who' etc ) are to be sent to 
majordomo at coombs.anu.edu.au address (= NOT to the list itself, NOT to the listowner)
