Hi everyone,

I just heard today (Friday, 2 April) on the U.S. National Public Radio news
program, All Things Considered, a fine, sympathetic piece on extinct
languages, including some very moving historic audio clips. It used to be
that you could get RealAudio clips of ATC stories the next day on the
National Public Radio Web site (I believe the URL is www.npr.org). Thus it
may be possible for you to download the story, save it, and play it on your
computer.

This story appeared as part of an NPR series called "Lost and Found
Sounds," and the announcer said that there would be more stories on
language endangerment and extinction in future installments. I listen to
ATC regularly and will do my best to alert the list to future stories.

regards
