Dear Friends:

Starting next week, as a part of the Akha weekly Journal we will be
introducing for the first time the beginning of an Akha Literary
Journal.

This added on Journal will be by Akha writers, and the Akha edition will

be posted as well, so that people can collect stories in Akha, who are
language students or whatever.

The Akha writers are very excited about this next step and we anticipate

having a very large body of weekly donated Akha literary text each
week. In reality we could announce this project and we would be
inundated with donated Akha writing, so we are trying to get it running
smoothly first.

As via another announcement, the video "The Akha Way" is now finished
and will be showing in Chicago on the 18th of this month at the Field
Museum of Natural History, for which we would like to thank Luisa Maffi,

Sharon Hainsfurther, Michael Ford, Mary and all the other people at
Yellowcat Productions who made this possible, plus all the Akha who make

up the story.

I will keep you informed of where else it is showing and when copies are

going to be available for viewing.
It is 30 minutes long and I don't know how we do that via the web yet.

It will just be a first of numbers of videos that we make in an effort
to bring as accurately as possible to the public, the story of the Akha
people and the problems they face and what they have to offer many
people of the world in their view of the world and the human place in
it.
