In conjunction with the LSA meeting in San Francisco,
the Rosetta Project and the Endangered Language Fund
will be hosting a benefit poetry-reading at an
off-site location in downtown San Francisco on Friday
evening, January 4th. Both poet-linguists and poets
from the local community are being invited to
participate in support of efforts to stem the tide of
language-loss worldwide. Interested poet-linguists
are advised to remember to bring along a few of their
poems to share during the evening. Additional
information about time and place will be available at
the Rosetta/ELF booth at the LSA meeting.

We hope that you will be able to help us in this
important undertaking as both artists and scientists
of language begin to conspire to help preserve our
planetÕs linguistic and poetic legacy.

Additional benefit poetry-readings are being planned
for Berkeley (January 7th), Santa Barbara (January
10th), and Los Angeles (January 12th), and others may
be scheduled in other cities during 2002.
