ELL: new work on ISO 639

Folk on this list will probably be interested to learn that ISO/TC 37 is
starting to work on a new part of ISO 639 (ISO 639-3) that will be
intended to provide identifiers for all known languages. It will be based
on the Ethnologue (with a one-timne change to some identifiers to ensure
compatibility with existing IDs in ISO 639-2) together with additional
work being done for EMELD by Linguist List to cover historic and
constructed languages.
