<p align="center">The next conference of the International Association of Language and Social Psychology, ICLASP 13, will be held between 20-23rd June, 2012, in the charming city of Ljouwert/Leeuwarden, the capital of bilingual Fryslân in The Netherlands. The conference will be held in conjunction with Mercator, the European Research Center on Multilingualism and Language Learning, which is part of the Fryske Akademy. Further details of keynote speakers and other aspects of the conference are at <a href="http://www.mercator-research.eu/conferences/upcoming-conferences/2012-june-20-23/" target="_blank">www.mercator-research.eu</a> and <a href="http://www.ialsp.org" target="_blank">www.ialsp.org</a>.</p>
<p align="center">This conference will bring together scholars from different disciplines who explore language and communication in their social contexts using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The focus is mainly on aspects such as identities, perceptions, attitudes, beliefs, values, motivations, norms, behaviour, policies and so on in their individual and intergroup contexts. Topics covered in previous conferences include language and health communication; language learning; bilingualism & multilingualism; language and discrimination, interpersonal, intercultural, interethnic and intergroup communication; nonverbal communication; miscommunication and communication failure; discourse analysis; language and ageing; language and mass media; language and humour; language and gender; language and authority; language and tourism; language and technology; language and security; endangered, regional and minority languages; language planning; and so on. Papers and symposia are invited for submission on these and related topics.</p>

Submissions will be accepted in two forms: Symposia or individual papers/abstracts. Details for each are provided below. <b><i>Please note that (i) all submissions and presentations need to be in English; (ii) by submitting a proposal for presentation at ICLASP13 you are agreeing to register for and attend the conference should your paper/symposia be accepted.</i></b></p>

<li>Name(s) and complete contact information for the convenor(s)</li>
<li>A 250 word maximum introduction to the thematic content of the symposium with title</li>
<li>A list of the individual papers, including titles and brief abstracts of each (250 words max.), the names, complete contact information for all authors, clearly indicating the presenter(s). A typical symposium is 3-4 presenters with an introduction and a discussant</li>
