flicker

I am creating a program that has two very quick (about 33ms)
presentations, each one containing nine bitmap images.  In the
original program, the timing was not correct due to the large amount
of information that had to be loaded.  I then tried to preload the
images by loading the files for both presentations and then having two
SlideObject.Draw commmands at the very end of the script.  This
appears to fix the timing problem, but now there is a quick flicker at
the beginning of each trial.  We can only see the flicker when the two
presentations are set to appear for a longer amount of time (999ms
each).  The flicker goes by so quickly that we can't tell what exactly
it is; however, we suspect that it may be presenting some of the
bitmap files while it is loading the images.  Has anyone else
encountered this kind of problem?  Any ideas for how to fix it?
