multiple-choice task & RT for first typed letter

Hi all, I tried this solution using the InputMask.Responses, but it
did not work. Here's the problem: I can see the RT for each letter
typed on the screen, but the RTs are not recorded in the data file.
How can the RT for each letter be recorded in the data file? Also, is
there a way to record the RT for the first letter *only*? The answers
can be quite long, and I don't need the RT for all letters, just the
very first.

Any assistance will be appreciated!
