key release timing

Oh, no, sorry if you got that impression.  You can record releases 
from any response device.  Please look at the "{key} nomenclature" 
topic of the online E-Basic Help.  The E-Prime manuals may also cover 
this a bit so take a look there as well (note that you can use the 
search feature in the .pdfs of the manuals).
