I’m exciting he’s coming to the conference. Interesting little segment.

Greetings ECers!

This is an FYI about one person's recent work in EC. The hope is it may prompt others to bring to our attention other recent works.

Tovar Cerulli has recently completed an MA, in short, about "meat and meanings". He is focused primarily on verbal interpretations of "adult onset hunters" (those who did not hunt as children but do so as adults), especially how they make sense of the act of hunting and food that results from that act. Some of his informants are former vegans (as Tovar is), male and female.

If interested, Tovar recently gave a brief 5 minute talk which summarizes his work for a general audience:

The topic was also taken up by him and co-authors in a recent op-ed piece in the Atlantic Monthly:

His book, The Mindful Carnivore, will be released by Pegasus on February 12th.

Cheers,
