<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="color:black">The Communication Department in the College of Media, Communication and Information (CMCI) at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a full professor to serve as Department
Chair for one term upon hire, with the possibility of additional terms. We seek a person to support the department’s continued achievement of excellence in research, teaching, and service, as well as its high level of collegiality. In particular, the person
would be responsible for administering the department, including assigning teaching and service responsibilities; preparing and implementing budgetary decisions; overseeing personnel matters related to hiring, annual assessment, and promotion of faculty and
staff; facilitating department decision making regarding policies and practices; and representing the unit to the Dean and other university administrators.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="color:black">This person should (1) have a PhD in the communication field, with a record of research and teaching excellence that meets the standards expected for appointment as a full professor at
an R1 doctoral university; (2) have academic expertise in at least one of the three foci in the department’s graduate program—Community & Social Interaction, Organizational Communication, or Rhetoric & Culture, and (3) have evidence of excelling at three or
more years of academic administrative experience. Preference will be given to candidates whose administrative experiences includes serving as department chair or in a similar academic leadership role.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
