SALSEROS,
I just got back from AILLA, the digital archive of materials on indigenous
languages located at the University of Texas. You may be interested to
discover, as I did, that the Archive has the full collection of Arthur
Sorensen's recordings from the northwest Amazon. It also has a number of
other nice surprises, such as a full digital posting of Niels Fock's 1963
book, Waiwai: Religion and Society of an Amazonian Tribe, convenient for use
in classes. I've asked Joel Sherzer, the founder of the archive, to prepare
a description of its holdings for our forthcoming meeting in Oxford. For
general information on the archive see their website:
http://www.ailla.utexas.org/site/welcome.html.
                                                             Best wishes,
Janet Chernela
