<DIV><FONT size=2>Estou concluindo um artigo sobre o Kariri, baseado na gramática de Mamiani, e estou tendo problemas para traduzir certas palavras para o inglês. Na verdade, o problema mesmo é que não tenho a menor idéia do que elas significam em português :o) Imaginem, então, a dificuldade de se verter para o inglês algo como <EM>bududu</EM> 'guirajao', quando não se sabe bulhufas sobre o seu significado... Já dei uma olhada no meu Aurélio, mas em vão. </FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2>A lista contendo estas palavras (raízes que ocorrem, quando possuídas, com o prefixo u-, provável cognato do 'marcador de posse alienável' <EM>õ </EM>em Jê) aparecerá como apêndice ao artigo e conterá também a tradução portuguesa (ou quase) de Mamiani. Portanto, a falta de tradução para o inglês não é em princípio tão problemática assim. Mas, de qualquer maneira, agradeceria muito se vocês pudessem me ajudar a desvendar este 'mistério'...</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2>Como a grande maioria dos termos na lista (que contém 89 palavras ao todo) se referem a itens da cultura material (comida, ferramentas, utensílios em geral), imagino que esta seja a área semântica em que os itens acima se incluiriam.</FONT></DIV>
