<DIV><FONT face="times new roman" size=2>Em seu trabalho sobre o tronco Macro-Jê no livro de Dixon & Aikhenvald (1999), Aryon Rodrigues lista quatro línguas para a família Boróro: Boróro Oriental, Boróro Ocidental, Umutina e Otúke. Minhas dúvidas são as seguintes:</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2><FONT face="times new roman"><STRONG>1. Boróro Oriental <EM>versus</EM> Boróro Ocidental. </STRONG>Haveria estudos investigando as diferenças entre ambos? Quais seriam as evidências que permitiriam a postulação de duas línguas diferentes? E, principalmente, quais seriam as fontes sobre o Boróro Ocidental? </FONT></FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2><FONT face="times new roman"><STRONG>2. Umutina.</STRONG> No trabalho citado acima, Rodrigues menciona que haveria apenas um falante do Umutina; tal informação consta também de trabalhos mais recentes, como Rodrigues (2004:70). É esta ainda a situação? Haveria semi-falantes da língua? Haveria iniciativas de revitalização lingüística entre os Umutina?</FONT></FONT></DIV>
