"Avanços em Lingüística Histórico-Comparativa Indígena Sul-Americana", que
ocorrerá por ocasião do 52º Congresso Internacional de
Americanistas (</FONT><A href="http://www.52ica.com/"><FONT face=Arial
size=2>http://www.52ica.com/</FONT></A><FONT face=Arial size=2>), reunirá
especialistas no estudo histórico-comparativo das línguas indígenas da América
do Sul, com o propósito de apresentar descobertas recentes, avaliar a conjuntura
atual e discutir perspectivas de futuros desenvolvimentos nesta
área.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Quinze trabalhos serão apresentados,
abrangendo línguas da Amazônia à Terra do Fogo e tratando de tópicos como
lingüística areal, reconstrução de proto-línguas, relações genéticas distantes,
dialetologia e a explicação diacrônica de irregularidades
sincrônicas.</FONT></DIV>
