> The organisers of the workshop on Linguistic Typology and Language <br>
> Documentation have been fortunate to receive funding from the <br>
> Volkswagen Foundation for up to 10 scholarships to support the <br>
> attendance by early career linguists at the above workshop (24-25 <br>
> September) and the ensuing ALT conference (25-28 September) so that <br>
> they can learn and participate in the discussion. The most up-to-date <br>
> version of the workshop program is attached.<br>

> The scholarships are to be given to early-career scholars engaged in, <br>
> or planning to engage in, language documentation. The main target <br>
> group are scholars from developing countries who lack access to <br>
> resources for conference attendance, in particular those from <br>
> countries with a high number of endangered languages. A few of the <br>
> scholarships may also be given to applicants from European countries <br>
> who have no access to other funding resources. Here applicants from <br>
> Germany are particularly encouraged to apply.<br>

> We are now welcoming applications from suitably qualified scholars. <br>
> Please send us a short statement, of no more than two pages, giving <br>
> brief details of your CV, linguistic interests and training, and how <br>

> documentation. Please also give us a separate travel budget, <br>
> containing the most economical possible fares from your place of <br>
> residence to the conference. Letters of recommendation commenting on <br>
