Luego se fueron integrando la<SPAN> </SPAN>Universidad Autónoma de Puebla - México, Universidad Ricardo Palma - Perú, Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador – Venezuela, Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico - Puerto Rico y Universidad Salesiana de La Paz – Bolivia. <P class="EC_EC_MsoNormal" style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify;"><FONT face size="3"><SPAN style="COLOR: black;FONT-FAMILY: 'Trebuchet MS';">Se orienta a p</SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Trebuchet MS';"><FONT color="#000000">romover el aprendizaje de prácticas de lectura y escritura para el desarrollo de competencias discursivas y cognitivas variadas, flexibles y adecuadas que permitan desarrollar estrategias para aprender a pensar y seguir aprendiendo, y a facilitar el intercambio y la apropiación de conocimientos que permitan la renovación y la excelencia académica en el área. Por otra parte, busca Incidir en la formación y actualización de estudiantes de alto nivel en el área, así como en la renovación de la formación inicial de los docentes. Por último,<SPAN> </SPAN>propugna un cambio de políticas educativas nacionales y latinoamericanas en Enseñanza de la Lengua Materna y desarrollo de la lectura y la escritura que posibiliten un mejor rendimiento académico en los estudiantes Latinoamericanos. </FONT></SPAN></FONT></P>
