excelentes iniciativas, assim como pela atenção que tem dado a minha
pessoa. Como tenho estado continuadamente numa luta cotidiana, junto com
nossa colega Ana Suelly Cabral, para manter o LALI numa instituição pouco
interessada, para formar novos pesquisadores e para levar adiante não só
a pesquisa científica, mas também o apoio aaos falantes de várias dessas
línguas e seus descendentes.<br><br>
Quanto à língua Umutína, posta em evidência por você na muito justa
comemoração dos sessenta anos da morte de Max Schmidt, que tenho uma
pequena contribuição, publicada primeiro por Harald Schultz na sua
monografia sobre os Umutína (<i>Rev. do Museu Paulista , </i>n. s.,
13:75-313, 1962) e depois reajustada no artigo "O parentesco
genético das línguas Umutína e Boróro' (que infelizmente saiu sem as
referências bibliográficas) no volume <i>Línguas e culturas Macro-Jê</i>,
