<P class="ecxyiv1426699362yiv1359634049MsoNormal"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt;">Never in history has the presence of students and citizens from diverse backgrounds been more prevalent in schools and societies. “Majority” and “minority” bilingual contexts have become multi(trans)lingual, multiliterate, and intercultural contexts where the effects of English and globalization, <I>vis-à-vis</I> national and indigenous languages and cultural groups, are contested, negotiated, and reinvented by all people. The main goal of the symposium is to engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary, and border-crossing (both geographically and intellectually) dialogue to co-establish research agendas, pedagogies, and policies that promote multilingual, multiliterate, intercultural, and egalitarian schools and societies.</SPAN> </P>
