Será dado maior enfoque a uma porção desse espaço chamado regionalmente de </span><i style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-size:15px;text-align:justify;">Gerais</i><span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-size:15px;text-align:justify;">. Tenho como base o mapa de Curt Nimuendaju que apresenta lacunas na localização de etnias em algumas áreas do centro do país. Pretendo esclarecer um problema que é a insuficiente disposição de informações cartográficas a respeito de quais eram e onde estavam os povos indígenas do Brasil Central, em especial num polígono que abrange o Noroeste e Triângulo Mineiro, todo o Estado de Goiás, extremo nordeste do Mato Grosso e sudoeste do Pará, grande parte do Tocantins, região sul do Maranhão e do Piauí, e oeste da Bahia. A hipótese central é de que há mais informações sobre etnias nessa região do que as apresentadas por Nimuendaju.
