<p><div dir="ltr">Caros colegas da lista,<div><br></div><div>na semana que passou os Kaingang "paulistas", das Aldeias de Icatu e Vanuíre, realizaram sua II Convenção Ortográfica.</div><div>Por suas particularidades sociolinguísticas, os kaingang de São Paulo deliberaram, em 2000, definir uma escrita própria para seu uso, sobretudo no ensino escolar. Passados 13 anos, na reunião realizada na Escola Índia Vanuíre, na semana passada, a Convenção foi revista e modificada em alguns aspectos. </div>
<div>Considerando que os próprios professores não são falantes nativos, e seus alunos são alfabetizados em Português (língua materna), a escrita definida por eles, e que acaba de sofrer alguns ajustes, tende a ser fonética, além de revelar marcas da obsolescência do seu uso naquelas comunidades. Apesar de tudo isso (ou por causa de tudo isso) tem estimulado os professores indígenas a estudar e aprender com os mais velhos, os poucos falantes nativos com que contam nas duas aldeias.</div>
<div>Sob minha orientação os professores kaingang paulistas estão iniciando uma pesquisa linguística com aqueles falantes nativos, destinada à produção de uma gramática e um dicionário escolar. </div><div>Mais detalhes e as deliberações da II Convenção estão disponibilizados na página inicial (página do mês) do Portal Kaingang (<a href="http://www.portalkaingang.org">www.portalkaingang.org</a>). </div>
