suggestions for matriarchal languages sources

Hello all:

I am interested in examining matriarchal languages for their social
consequences.  I have been trying to gather sources on the Mosou people
in western China that Joseph Rock wrote about in the 1930s, and I have
some information on the Han women who spoke/wrote Nu Shu in Hunan
Province, China.  

Do any of you have recommendations for me about other languages I could
be looking at?  While I come at this from an intercultural communication
and gender and communication perspective, I am interested in research
from anthropological, sociological, and linguistic perspectives.
