Annoyingly outdated...

Greetings,

I realize that the spam is annoying; I'm sure we all hate it!
Actually, what kind of spam are you getting through this, because I'm
not receiving it.  What I get, as list-owner, whenever someone posts,
is a large quantity of error messages for past members who have
changed their email addresses without deleting themselves from the
list.  You shouldn't be getting these messages. What kind of spam are
you referring to?

If you're getting the error messages, I'm sure there's something that
can be done, if you confirm that this is the case.  However, if
you're getting real spam, of the kind we all hate, I don't think
there's anything that can be done, because this is an unmoderated
list, and you don't have to be a member to post.  I anyone can tell
me in more detail what's going on, I can check with the Linguist
folks (who house the list) to see what we can do.
