Hello,

My name is Luis Gutierrez, Cuban-American, 63 years old, semi-retired.
My background is engineering and industry, but love the human and
ecological sciences and the interface between technology and society.

I am particularly interested in the impacts of gender equity/inequity on
issues of sustainable human development. My retirement project is a
newsletter of reflections on this subject matter. The current issue is
an analysis using the mimetic theory of literary critic and social
anthropologist Rene Girard. If you want to take a look, go to

Would this be a topic of interest for discussion in this list? The
material is certainly related to feminist linguistics, an area in which
I need all the help I can get. If the topic is not of interest, fine; I
still look forward to get a feeling for the hopes and concerns of
members of this forum.

Take care,

Luis

PS -- BTW, have you seen this article?

Would love to hear what you think about Longman's perspective!
