Languages on CD-ROM

I believe that Routledge, the London publisher, is currently planning a World
Languages Corpus on CD-ROM as a follow-up to the Atlas of the World's
Languages. The idea, as I understand it, is to present (in standardised
format) speech samples of each language accompanied by a transcription.

It might be an idea to pool the various efforts that people are making
worldwide.
