The Department of Linguistics at the University of Colorado, Boulder seeks
candidates for an Assistant Professor position in syntax.  The successful
candidate will demonstrate original contributions to syntactic theory, and
will have thorough grounding in functional and formal approaches to
syntax, including those that study interactions among semantics,
pragmatics and syntax.  Broad teaching interests and proven successful
teaching are also required.   Strong research in one or more
non-Indo-European languages, and interest in other areas of linguistics
are highly desirable.   Send application letter, resume and names and
