Intelligence and aptitude

Concerning the ability to learn and the emotional attitude towards
learning a foreign language, does anyone know of studies showing whether
there is any correlation between success in learning a foreign language
(up to 'native-like' standards) and any innate specific features of
intelligence (if there are such things)? So much of the ability to learn
(at least in my experience) comes from having fun with it, that I wonder
what else there could be.
