Why don't you have a look at Matthew Dryers paper in the Journal of
Pragmatics 1996: 475-523 Focus, pragmatic presupposition and activated
propositions, and you'll have a useful survey. Also of course Knut
Lambrecht's 1994 book on Information structure and sentence form. For more
references see a
