Good news - the Fulbright Scholar Program is featuring Teaching English
as a Foreign Language (TEFL) awards in nearly every world region for the
2009-10 competition that is currently underway. Consider a Fulbright
grant for lecturing, researching, or both. In Latin America, grants are
available in Panama, Venezuela, Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras,
and Chile. In Africa, there are grants in Cote d'Ivorie and Mauritius.
And in Asia, there are grants in Indonesia, Kyrgyz Republic,
Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Taiwan, and Mongolia. While each grant is
different, a brief sampling of topics of interest includes methodology,
communications techniques, textbook analysis, language learning
software, and English for professional purposes. While language and
teaching experience preferences vary, English is sufficient in most
cases.

Applications for 2009-2010 are due by August 1, 2008.

US citizenship and a Ph.D. or its equivalent terminal degree are
required.
