The Summer School in *Linguistics and Leadership* is a three-week

venues for teaching and research in the areas of cognitive linguistics
and bilingualism.

The programme is aimed at undergraduate and beginning graduate students
who wish to learn about the nature of language, how it relates to the
mind and the world, how it evolved, and continues to change, the rise of
English as the world's global language, the social dimensions of
language, and how children acquire language. For non-native speakers of
English there are also optional English language improvement modules.
The last four days of the Summer School provide an opportunity for
international students to interact with UK and EU students through group
work and aims to encourage students to learn from and share experiences
with a diverse mix of peers. This will develop participants self
awareness, understanding of leadership concepts and practical skills to
aid future careers and activities.

In addition to classes and four keynote lectures there is also a full
social programme, including excursions to some of the most beautiful
sites in North Wales and beyond. Keynote lectures will be give by:

Prof. David Crystal -- English Linguistics
Prof. Vyv Evans -- Cognitive Linguistics
Dr. John Olsson -- Forensic Linguistics
