CONF: AFLiCo 5 : early registration ends March 15

Dear colleague,

We would like to remind you of the deadline for early registration (ends 
March 15) for the AFLiCo conference "Empirical Approaches to 
Multi-modality and to Language Variation (AFLiCo 5)", which will take 
place from 15 to 17 May 2013 at the University of Lille 3 in Villeneuve 
d'Ascq (France). Early registration closes March 15; late registration 
closes April 8, 2013.

A Spring School on "Empirical methods in usage-based linguistics" will
take place on the two days preceding the conference, i.e. 13-14 May, 
2013. There will be five workshops in parallel: corpus-linguistics, 
categorical statistics in corpus linguistics using R, using ELAN, using 
CLAN, psycholinguistic experiments; see the AFLiCo 5 website for 
details). The school is open to anyone wishing to learn about one of 
these methods. Those interested in taking one of these workshops are 
invited to contact Maarten Lemmens a.s.a.p. 
(maarten.lemmens at univ-lille3.fr). Fees for the school are expected to be 
around 30 to 40 euros per day (including lunch and coffee).


*Registration AFLiCo 5: information and procedure*

To register, you need to create an account on this platform:

If you already have an account (e.g., if you have submitted an abstract 
to this conference or to another one on SciencesConf.org) you can use 
that one.

Early registration fees for non-members is 130€ (regular) or 60€
(student). There are reduced fees for AFLiCo members: 90€ (regular) or 
40€ (student). AFLiCo membership is 20€ per year; to become member click 
on the link “http://www.aflico.fr/membership.html” and follow the
instructions given there.

Early registration opens on January 22, 2013 and closes on March 15, 2013.

After March 15, there is a 40€ increase of fees: late registration fee 
for non-members will then be 170€ (regular) or 100€ (student) and for 
AFLiCo members 130€ (regular) or 80€ (student). Late registration closes 
on April 8, 2013.

Basic conference fee covers plenary lectures, use of conference rooms,
conference bag, name tag, book of abstracts and coffee breaks.


*Lunches*

The registration module allows you to pre-order lunches for any or all
three conference dates (Wednesday, May 15, Thursday, May 16 and Friday,
May 17). A lunch costs 8 euro and includes a deli sandwich, a drink and 
a healthy dessert.


*Conference dinner*

The conference dinner will take place on Thursday evening in an 
exquisite restaurant located in a historic site in "Old Lille"
(http://www.lilleremparts.fr/en/index.php). The price of 48€ includes an
aperitif and amuse-bouche, a starter, a main course, a dessert and 
coffee or tea, as well as wine and water. There is a vegetarian option.


*Excursion to LaM*

On Thursday afternoon at around 4 p.m., before the conference dinner,
there will be a guided visit to the LaM, the newly refurbished and
extended Lille Metropolitan Museum of modern art, contemporary art and 
art brut in Villeneuve d’Ascq (http://www.musee-lam.fr/gb/). The price 
is 10€ (not including transport to the museum from the conference site: 
from the Pont de Bois metro station, take bus 41 to L.A.M.).


*T-shirt*

For only 12 euro, you can buy a conference souvenir T-shirt (S/M/L/XL),
containing the logo, the title and the date of the conference.

*Transport*

We advise you to buy a booklet of 10 metro tickets upon arrival, which
would cover the trips to and from the city centre to the university for
the whole conference, including the bus ticket for the excursion to
museum.

frais réduit pour le le colloque ‘Approches Empiriques de la 
multi-modalité et de la variation linguistique (AFLiCo 5), qui aura lieu

également une école thématique "Méthodes empiriques en linguistique de 
l'usage". Il y aura 5 ateliers parallèles: linguistique de corpus, 
statistique catégorique en linguistique de corpus avec R, utiliser ELAN, 
utiliser CLAN, méthodes expérimentales psycholinguistiques. Cette école 
est ouverte à toute personne souhaitant apprendre une des ces méthodes. 
Si vous êtes intéressé à suivre un de ces ateliers, merci de le signaler 
au plus vite à Maarten Lemmens (maarten.lemmens at univ-lille3.fr). Les 
frais d'inscription pour l'école sera aux alentours de 30 à 40 euro par 
jour (déjeuner et café inclus).

Nous vous invitons à vous inscrire avant le 15 mars pour bénéficier des
meilleurs tarifs :

Les droits d’inscriptions pour les non-membres de l’AFLiCo sont de 130
euro (tarif normal) ou 60 euros (tarif étudiants).

Les membres de l’AFLiCo bénéficient d’un tarif réduit : 90 euros (tarif

*Dîner de gala*

Un dîner de gala est organisé le jeudi 16 mai au soir, dans un charmant
restaurant situé dans le centre historique du ‘Vieux Lille’
(http://www.lilleremparts.fr/en/index.php). Le Restaurant La Terrasse 
des Remparts vous propose un menu à 48€ comprenant apéritif, entrée, 
plat, dessert (boissons incluses). Vous pouvez choisir un menu végétarien.


*Excursion au LaM*

Le jeudi après-midi après 16h, nous vous proposons de participer à une
visite du LaM, Musée d’art moderne, d’art contemporain et d’art brut de
Lille Métropole. Ce musée, situé à Villeneuve d’Ascq tout près de
l’Université Lille3, vient de rouvrir après rénovation, et propose une
remarquable collection d’art brut qui vaut le détour
(http://www.musee-lam.fr/). Vous pourrez visiter librement ou suivre une
visite guidée en anglais ou en français. Le tarif proposé (10 euros) ne
comprend pas le déplacement jusqu’au musée (en transport en commun : de 
la station du Pont de Bois, prenez bus 41 arrêt L.A.M.).
