Dear GALA-L List Members

I am very pleased to share with you a Freedom House Report on Women's Rights in the Middle East and North Africa that was published yesterday. I have been delighted about the attention it has received, ranging from an AP piece in the New York Times to being a featured story on Al-Arabiya.

Dear all

We are pleased to announce an interdisciplinary conference on Masculine Identifications to be hosted by the University of Huddersfield from 9th-11th July 2010, which aims to combine research on masculinities within the Humanities and Social Sciences. Attached is the call for papers; the deadline for abstracts is 16th April.

Dr Paul Baker from Lancaster University is one of our confirmed plenary speakers, who will be talking on the representation of homosexual male identities in a newspaper corpus.

Best wishes
Laura
