Call for papers: QUEER WOMEN’S DISCOURSES & REPRESENTATIONS

Panel at the Twentieth Anniversary Lavender Languages and Linguistics Conference, American University (Washington, D.C.), 15-17 February 2013

This panel will run for its second year to explore current developments, using a range of linguistic approaches, to an understanding of “non-normative” women’s experiences and practices. Papers will engage with the myriad identities falling under the umbrella term of “queer”. Papers may focus on such identities/categories as lesbian and bisexual women, transgendered women, women who are polyamorous or engage in non-heteronormative sexual practices, as well as research into genderqueer identities and representation, for example. Abstracts are welcomed from those engaged in research into any aspect of queer womanhood.

Please send abstracts of approx. 250 words to lucy.jones at hull.ac.uk by 31st October 2012. Please feel free to email before this date with informal proposals or enquiries.
