Hello all

Members of this list may be interested in this new Facebook group: Queer Linguist(ic)s Network. Pasted below is the description, providing information on intended membership and purpose.

Intended membership

- queer* people who are linguists

- (any) people who study/research queer linguistics

*queer here encompassing all non-normative/marginalised gender, romantic and sexual identities and intersex

Purpose

- supporting

- advising

- sharing

- networking

- possibly other stuff as it develops...

Posts might include discussion of queer linguistic research and knowledge, as well as issues, specific or general, relating to being queer in the field of linguistics.

Introduction

The group should have a very different place, value and feel to more formal networks and mailing lists (and has no intention to compete with these), serving as more of an informal space for sharing, open discussion and support (and not as a mailbox clogger!).

The group is still young - it might be too niche, but let's give it a go and see if it works!

Kind regards,

Andy Law (they/them/their)
