9th BAAL Language, Gender and Sexuality Special Interest Group Event

'Language, Gender and Sexuality Research Methodologies Revisited'

Date: Friday 8th April 2016; 10.00am to 4.30pm

Place: Liverpool Hope University, Hope Park, Childwall, Liverpool, L16 9JD.

The field of Language, Gender and Sexuality is investigated through an increasing range and diversity of theoretical and methodological approaches. The aim of this one-day seminar is to bring together scholars from different backgrounds in order to consider where we are now in terms of the theoretical and methodological approaches that are widely adopted in relevant studies. In bringing together researchers whose work draws on state of the art approaches we hope to encourage both debate and innovative, creative feminist practice. The event includes plenary talks as well as a round table closing session. It aims to draw on issues that were first explored during a seminar which took place at Birmingham University in 2005 and to identify priority areas for future research in the field.

Registration now open http://store.hope.ac.uk/browse/extra_info.asp?compid=1&modid=2&deptid=26&catid=164&prodid=244
